I have never, ever used flea/tick meds. I swear by one Brewers Yeast tablet per day. Most dogs really love the taste anyway. None of our pets (and we had 3 dogs and 2 cats) ever had fleas. We did see the occasional tick, but it was easy to remove. You can get it in the grocery store, with the vitamins.
