I got Meka at 9 wks. I think the age a pup can leave their mother differs from state to state...and is certainly a matter of opinion. We pad trained her from day one and she's 98% trained at the moment. But considering she has full run of the house, she's doing great! I use pee pads cause it works so much better for our schedules and for her. Not to mention, seasons change and so does the weather and Meka doesnt like her paws wet
You do have to be consistant and a lot of patience wouldnt hurt. For a while you'll have to watch her like a hawk. Just making sure that after eating/drinking, allow a little time to pass and send her to her pad. Keep reminding her that's where she needs to go and praise, praise, praise her when she does it correctly.... and she'll get it
