I too have had the smaller babies under 2 oz. But it seems that yours should do fine, as long as he is gaining you are doing everything right. One of mine took forever to gain his birth weight back and I thought many times I would lose him. I know how stressful this can be, just keep doing what you are doing, supplementing and making sure he is warm.
