Ellie is the same way. She was fine on kibble and could regulate herself but now on homecooked I put the plate down and she doesn't pick her head up til she's done. She eats faster if you are about to take the plate away and sometimes she growls or snaps. I don't get it. She always acts hungry and when her food is on the counter cooling she barks at it. When she acts like she needs something (to go outside) I get up and she takes me to the fridge.
