Thanks guys- keep the advice coming! Oh, and how has everyone who's flown United w/ their pet been treated?
We have flown other airlines .... just usually United. We find that most of the airlines pretty much treat you the same as far a check-in, etc. It's the attendants on the flight who are different. We have had them that let me actually cuddle her in my arms except for landing & takeoff. We have had them that almost took her in their arms and showed her off up and down the isle! Some of them will say "dog?? I don't see a dog!" and wink while we take her out of her bag for a treat & some water! Almost every flight, without exception, will at least let us bring her bag on our lap, unzip the top and let her have some fresh air and water and keep her out until we are ready to land. She never tries to jump out or anything anyway. For those attendants, I would swear, if a problem ever came up because we had her out, that the attendant knew absolutely nothing and saw nothing!! I appreciate them so much! For those hateful ones who won't let us take her bag out and at least give her a sip of water ... I feel like reporting them for animal cruelty!! You really can't predict how they will treat you ... seems like the more subdued you are, the nicer they are. Good luck!
