Now that mine are used to riding in car seats they are actually more anxious riding on a lap. They prefer their seats. It took them a while to be like this though. When you get in the car stick a bunch of TINY treats in his seat and let him sniff around to get them all, or give him a bully stick or a kong. Something that means car=yummy treats!
