Greyhound rescues all usually foster their dogs. The foster parents sometimes have other dogs, big and small, cats, rabbits, etc. They test the dogs before going into foster homes to see if they are good with other animals. Some just don't have the prey drive others do which is why they 'suck' at racing. I want a retired one too. They are great dogs. I've seen lots of them living in all different types of furry families with no reported problems.
Someone here mentioned a italian greyhound instead. These are not the same, tho they may look it. I fear that Iggy's are actually more fragile then our yorkies. their legs are so long and skinny and break easily. i'd get a greyhound before an iggy.
