Hi Gloria, and CONGRATS!

I just spoke with a Chihuahua breeder about this same subject. Her exact words were "Temperament is hereditary, but disposition is not". So, in other words, I guess there is some pre-determined genetics involved in whether you'll have a calm or hyper baby, but we can make that better or worse with however we treat them.
