I never taped but when I brought Soleil home I shaved her ears down (its sooo easy!!) 1/2 way and as soon as I was done they stood RIGHT up...I was amazed..they never went down again after that and I shave their ears regularly...Whal makes an awesome trimmer that is perfect for ears and its really inexpensive..I got mine at Walmart!!
