I wouldn't worry about sterilizing the washing machine after every wash because if your washing machine is dirty after cleaning your clothes, pee pads or whatever, then your washing machine isn't doing it's job ya know?
If you are worried about putting the poo in the washer, you could invest in a diaper sprayer used for cloth diapers. It attaches to the back of the toilet so you can use it to wash the poopies down the toilet. If you are interested PM me and I will give you a couple of web sites to buy one from.
