I use a product called "Capture" when one of my girls has an accident on the carpet. You can buy it at stores such as Home Depot, Lowes, Menards.
It works great! I have light grey carpet that is so light, that it is almost white, and it removes all traces of the stain. Sometimes, if someone has vomited, it may take 2 0r 3 treatments, but it works.
