I've used Macs since 1989 - yes, my first was a dinasaur Mac

and I have never had not one single problem with any of them (I'm on my fourth one). I have an iBook - would like to get the Mac Book and probably will one of these days.

I don't think you can ever go wrong with ANY Mac - but then, I'm biased!
