Jamie. I think I may have mentioned this, but have you looked into rescue. YES, more then likely there would be some kind of adoption fee - usually between $250 - $400 with $400 being more common but your dog/pup has already been vetted, shots and spay and neutered PLUS you know for sure the health of your Yorkie. Finding someone that will give you a Yorkie for free is almost unlikely. Most people feel that giving away for free does not ensure a good home. Not saying you won't provide one, just stating reccomendations that are made to weed out people looking for dogs to use at labratories etc. If you do find a Yorkie (such as the link Sugar's mom provided) you could make contact with the owner and speak to them about your situation. A lot of families are more interested in finding a GOOD home first and foremost and may work with you with the fee and or just give you the dog after of course checking out your references and ensuring that you do infact have all the credits for free vet care. In a lot of cases, people are just following the reccomendations of charging a fee to make sure that the dog does not end up in the wrong hands. You''d be surprised to know how many labratories send people underhandedly to find FREE dogs so they can use them in labratories. Best of luck. Elaine |
