They are described in the "standard" as small v-shaped http://www.ytca.org/standard.html

but what you have is a pet and most of us don't have the show quality examples of the breed. Big ears do not mean a bad breeder, it means big ears. Good breeders try for the best and they come up with a few "show quality" dogs now and then...and a lot of pet quality in between.

Good breeders do their best to use good examples of the breed for breeding.

My baby is flawed too but she is a wonderful pet.

And about those ears. They don't look THAT big, but if you shave them, they will appear smaller.
