I just came back fom what I believe is a puppy mill.The place has very many ads on puppyfind including 4 different types of dogs including yorkies.My friend wanted to look a puppy (not a yorkie) she had seen so I agreed to go along.It was a large house out in the country looked fairly nice,I made sure there were no barns or anything that could be used for kenneling large amounts of dogs.Walking in ,the living room was made into a foyer sealed off with french doors from the rest of the house.The puppy was sitting there shivering on the cold tile, looking a mess.I picked up the puppy and started to play dumb."Oh how cute"I said do you have any yorkies currently available lo and behold he brings 2 out.He said one was 9 weeks old and would grow to between 4-5 lbs the other was 11 and would be about 5lbs.Now I am a yorkie breeder and currently have a litter of 9 week old pups these dogs were about triple their size and mine should be about 6 pounds mature. The second pups nails were grown up and under his foot.I say "Oh Im just not sure their both so cute!""could I possibly see the moms?"He goes upstairs in the foyer and brings down this tiny female with hair so matted with snarls and feces.Ok this guy looked young perhaps a son to who owns it so Im not sure if he knew better or not.The second mother looked about 14 pounds her nails were so long they had NEVER been cut or maybe not in years,he had went through the french doors to get that one.He appeared very nervous and unfriendly but I tried to keep things light.We really should think things over first before rushing.Thanked him for his time and left.
I feel sick!I know places like this exist but it's so hard to imagine cruelty to this degree.Just think of what I wasn't shown.I feel compelled to do something.I need to do something!Does anyone have any advice on what I should do.
