It does play music, and you can add a memory card to carry as much music as you want. Once I bought it, I completely relied on my phone for all contacts, appts, birthdays, memos, you name it. I'll never be able to go back to a regular phone. This thing can hold a lot of appts. I have a daily appt reminder to take meds and to get up in the mornings in addition to all of my client meetings, trips, plans with friends, etc.
