I'm not sure what you mean by yorkie puppy food. You can read up about quality dog food in the health & diet forum. Also there is good food info at

As other said it is important not to brush a dry coat, as that will break the coat. Use a good conditioning spray or water with some conditioner. I use Cloud Star's Buddy Splash
