I'm very interested in the replies for this. My Otis is cotton coated. Winters in Indiana are very dry and he has started biting at his back down by his tail. His skin is kinda flakey and looks like dandruff there. I'm thinking about vitamin e but need to do some more research. Good luck to ya, I'm gonna keep my eye on this one.
