I have a golden retriever that I love!! We paid $30 for him at the local pound several years ago. He's about 10 now. He came fully trained and the best personality and I fully trust him with my kids. I would have paid a LOT more for him! BUT I probably would not ever get another one, you know why? He sheds...a lot. If I could have a goldenretriever with his personality but didn't shed, I would pay 1600 for him. Because those qualities are important to ME and it would be worth it.
