color You will get different opinions when talking color..breeders and judges do not agree..ALL you have to do is look at the colors/ shades in a show entry. Ask each breeder if they think that color is the standard blue/tan..they will for the most part say. yes.
You want a SILK texture of steel blue..that is ideal. Of course some are too light and others too dark..some start out a good color and dilute too much, some never break to proper color, others fade with age, hormones and birthing.
If you have to constantly de-mat, cut knots and clip down, most likely the coat is soft or cottony, not silk. The breeder should be able to look at your pup and give you an idea of adult color..they should know the line and the tendancies. In a pup, quanity, does not always mean quality silk..silk for the most part starts out a bit thinner..if the pup looks like a thick coated teddy bear ,it is usually a cottony testure and will need constant brushing. |
