Before I had a yorkie, I thought I wanted a really tiny one too. I knew there wasn't such thing as a "teacup" but wanted a small one. However, when I got Lacy I didn't really care what size my dog was - as long as it wouldn't be too big...Lacy was almost 3lbs at 11 weeks so I knew she wouldn't be tiny. Of course, the tiny ones are adorable...I have a few friends with some tiny babies. But you do have to be careful with the smaller ones. I would prefer for my next yorkies to fall between 4 and 6lbs..definitely no smaller than 3lbs just because I'd worry sick about such a tiny one.

I thought it might be beneficial to see what the YTCA said about "teacups" and what that even though the standard says up to 7lbs, that 4-7lbs is preffered and that most females should be at least 5lbs to breed.
