I can totally relate. McKenzie, we got at 11 weeks and she came from such a nice breeder. But, she always seemed very timid. Even still she'll flatten her ears when she walks by us or when I call her to me.. she comes with her ears to the side. It makes me so sad for her that she's so shy. But she's usually happy go lucky and plays with the dogs, it's just certain situations.
She also is deathly afraid of other dogs at first. When we take her anywhere she'll see other dogs like walks or to petsmart, she makes these shrieking bark noises because she's terrified. Once she gets close to the other dog and can sniff, she's fine.
I really hope we can work on getting her a little more comfortable.
