Hi there, I am also new here but had been reading a lot, most members (including my self) approve high protein diets cause dogs are carnivores and that is what they should eat, they are not meant to eat carbs and they don’t process them very well, actually many members feed raw which is a pretty high protein diet, but it might not be suitable for every dog, so you need to test by trial and error your boy a bit until you find the best food for him (very gently of course)… If you’re sticking to kibble for a while here is a great review page

Concerning his adolescence behavior I would say its normal and healthy, as long as it doesn’t get out of hand, you can search for zoomies and you will find out that some yorkies are like this quite often, if you wanna learn more about your buddies mind (the way he thinks I mean) I recommended you get the book “the other side of the leash” wrote by Patricia Mcconnell.
