My oldest child is almost 20. When she was born, I was 19, young and naive.
I didin't think it neccesary to get her birth certificate until I needed it when she started kindergarten. When we got it, they had misspelled her name. Our last name is Renfro, hers was Rentfrog for the first 4 years of her life. We were told we would have to legally adopt her if we did not get the hospital to admit their mistake. Luckily they admitted it, but the name kind of stuck as a joke. Not long after this all happened, we had our second child, I got my first email address, and that was the inception of Rentfrog4. I have just always kept it.
Funny nowbut at the time it was not so funny. I was a bit miffed that someone could make that kind of mistake, given that our last name was spelled right on the same form, just my daughters was wrong. Once it was all behind us, and taken care of I would joke with my daughter that she wasn't even mine, and that if she didn't behave I would send her back to those "Rentfrog" people.

Gee, I was expecting an interesting answer, but this surpassed my wildest dreams. Thank you so much !!! LOL
