When my first dog was a puppy we took a class from an animal behaviorist. The solution given was to, soon as teeth touched the skin, say "no" very loudly and put the dog in a dark (for some reason, it being dark was important) closet for 5 minutes. It seemed very cruel at the time, but we did it and it worked remarkably well. Broke my heart each time. Fortunately it took only 3 days to break her of the habit. Copper was an easy train though. Now she is 11 years old and has never put teeth...even to play..on a person. We were very consistant because the trainer said that if you make "exceptions" you confuse the dog. Piper (my 7 month puppy) sometimes does put teeth on us and I am going to do the same thing to train her because I think it is a dangerous game..even if they are little. I have been putting it off, hoping this habit would go away by itself. Interestingly, I took Piper to a behaviorist for training (different person) and in 11 year's time, the advice from this trainer was exactly the same as the advice from the first one. So, it's time for me to work on this teeth situation with Piper.
