Something that I have been considering as well... Though it seems that the con's are: if your pup is lost and found by someone, unless they have a reason to take the pup to the vet...it seems useless because thats the only way they can be identified is if the vet scans for the chip. I guess my prior thought of it was that maybe it was some sort of a tracking device to help locate your pet if lost. Im still up in the air on this one... JMO
