Ok....most bratty kids don't come with signs on them that says "will torture cute little animals" - so therefore, the dogs must be labled "not good with kids" HAHA.
When I say bratty kids, I'm referring to my cousins. One 5 year old girl and twin two year old boy/girl twins. Cute as they can be. HOWEVER they have NOT been taught the word "no".
They pull cats tails and throw toys at the dogs.....the animals are terrified of them, frankly.
I actually do attribute part of Sully's really successful socialization to making him play with these crazy kids when he was a puppy. But never for very long and I always strictly supervised them. Those kids hear "no" from me more often than they do from their mom in a week, I swear. I love my cousins dearly but holy cow they're a handful!
But Sully doesn't like playing with them much, either. He likes it when they chase him....ONLY becasue he's way too fast for them to actually catch him. LOL.
BUT I'm talking about Sully, who was socialized as a puppy around small children! Most of these yorkies on that list were NOT socialized with kids. They're not at all used to their tails being pulled and being petted on the head by the hand of an awkward 2-year old. |
