i have a couple questions about training

my two chis were trained to go on potty pads but i want to train the new pup to go outside.should i just stick with the pads? will there be too much confusion?

also my girls dont sleep in crates(i didnt crate train them...wish i did though) they only go in a crate when companies over.
but would it be okay for me to crate train the new pup?

i wont make the pup stay in the crate too much but would like to have them used to one
