Rawhide is not digestible and can break off in pieces and get stuck in their intestines or make them choke.

Bully sticks are safer in that they are digestible. They eat them a little bit at a time (not just chew on them, but eat them). It's still important to have supervision just like any treat.

Mine can eat a whole 6" bully stick in a day and be fine, but they get them all the time. It took us a couple times trying sticks when he was a puppy until his tummy was happy. I don't know if Sammy had eaten sticks before coming to us, but she never had a problem. It was fun to watch her eat her first one - she was trying to figure out what it was and what to do with it. Now she is is pro.
