If you have another dog or a friend or family with a dog that is close to your baby I would take them out on a leash and tell them to "find Delilah". Maybe let them sniff something of hers.
When I tell my babies to "find" the other dog they will go right to them even if we are in a store with a lot of aisles. They ALWAYS know how to find the other one. I have told each of my babies to "find daddy" when he is on a car dealership lot and I put them down and they will RUN straight to him no matter how far away he is. I don't know how they know, but they do. This might be a long shot but anything is worth a try. I would definitely try it if it were me.
That's actually a really GOOD idea!!! dogs are sooooo smart!!! (you can tell one of my mom's dogs, Lexi.. to go get Haley(my mom's yorkie) or my Avery and she does!) this is so true..on sooo many different levels!! such an excellent idea, Jean! And like you said..if you have a dog that you are able to do this with, let them smell something of Delilah's first!! It's worth a try!!
