Yep - immediately say OUCH! and set her down or move away from her and ignore her for a minute or two. Repeat until she gets it.

Sammy does this. We didn't have her when she was a puppy so it's becoming very difficult to break her of the habit. You're right, she's not doing it to be mean she is just too excited. That is how puppies play and they just need to learn it's not OK to play like that with people. We just warn visitors that Sam will bite their noses if they let her give kisses!!
