IF you plan on breeding, please, please, please take time to chat with breeders on here. We have some great ethical breeders, who are more than happy to help. I know it's frustrating to wait a single day longer, when one's heart is aching to love one of these little bundles. But, there's so much more to breeding than just finding two 'papered' dogs and getting a tie. It can result in much heartache, and the early weeks are exhausting. It sounds as if you and your wife might not want to add any more stress to your lives at this time. Of course, this is jmo.
My Abigail is reg AKC, and I wanted to breed her one time, so I could have her puppy; as we're not wealthy people, and I knew she would probably be my one shot for purchase. But, after reading that it's a possibility to loose one's pet in whelping, I decided it wasn't worth it and spayed. |
