you never know. it could be perfectly safe but why give your pet medication it does not need? i don't think i'd call it playing it safe by deworming every few months. its honestly just not needed. instead of deworming why not just give a heartworm pill with the dewormer already in it, or bring a stool sample to the vet every couple months if your that worried? i don't give my dog dewormers. she gets interceptor once a month from april thru november and she's never had any worms (not counting what she came with from the breeder's house).
