The hyperactivity and barking though. We use the penny can for barking and it works. We also try to wear Gizmo out with lots of play and frequent walks and that seems to help too.
Yorkies also have "episodes" where they run everywhere really fast...around and around. Lots of people refer to those episodes as the "zoomies". I've heard them described as looking like "a rabbit on crack". If that's the behavior you're describing, it's very normal.

Welcome, Dreamer74!!! I hope you find this YT family as great as I do! I've received tons of good info here, since I joined. I only had 1 yorkie then and now I have 2 of them - wanting a 3rd one already!!
Judy, I just had to quote you!! You called them episodes? zoomies?? a rabbit on crack?? I am laughing my butt off!! Our Maltese, Skiddles, started this crazy behaviour and hubby called it his "nut run"!! First time, he said "look at that little nut run!!" After our Maltese, we got Ginger and she did the same thing! Then we got ShyAnne and sure enough, she does it too!! We don't have Skiddles anymore but it is so darn comical to watch my 2 yorkie babies running like crazy, around and around pieces of furniture, down the hall and back again!! Leaping over top of each other!! It is tiring just to watch them!!
Zoomies is a perfect word for this fun behaviour of theirs!!
