Most contracts do not guarantee a weight because, frankly, no one can know for sure until the dog reaches maturity. Hopefully your breeder was a good breeder and did the best he/she could to match the puppy you wanted to you. If the parents were the size she says they were then she was okay to give you the "estimate" she did, but that is all it was was an estimate unless she put it in writing as a guarantee. If that is the case you might be able to receive some compensation if the price you paid was partially based on adult size.
I am one who wishes yorkie size was based on height and length rather than weight because some dogs are stockier and weigh more like my Ava, while some are thinner, taller and longer and weigh less like my Chai.
If your budget doesn't allow for clothes now and when she is full grown, then just hold off for another 8-12 weeks on buying anything and you will now. Welcome to YT!! |
