Our city passed the ordianance last year. I think they'll recind it now that the state law will cover it. It is nice. When going to restaurants for the first several weeks, the hosts and hostesses kept asking "smoking or non-smoking" out of habit. It is fun to sit anywhere and the waits are shorter. (Some of the more bitter smokers will say that's because they're refusing to eat out now, but the places are still busy, but seating is more flexible and efficient now.)
I'm sorry for those that are addicted and even those bitter about the smoke-free shift in the country. Most would like to quit but can't. So I'm hoping that the inconvenience to them will aid in their move to quit. Hey, it's a New Year - it's a good time to give it a try!
