Some vets will only give two sets of puppy shots instead of the traditional three or four if the pup is older. They don't have maternal antibodies anymore, so they don't need as many vaccines because maternal antibodies counteract them. I would prefer to give two sets and at the very most three (for DHPP). Rabies wouldn't have been given yet, so you are safe to do that at its regular time. I wouldn't do any of this until your pup is better. He/she will have to stay inside almost completely until then.
