I'm so sorry for that baby
This is one reason that we put up a fence, and sadly my babies don't get to go for walks around our neighborhood
I take them to a park sometimes, but it's not an off-leash one. We don't have one, and I'd be too afraid to let them off the leashes.
That Akita and it's owner need to be held accountable. Isn't there one neighbor who could come forward and say they witnessed the attack? When my Starr was attacked by the pitbull two doors down, they took my word for it. Of course the owner was right there, but it was off leash and just came charging out of its yard to the street. My poor daughter and her best friend were traumatized and poor Starr had to get all sewn up from that attack. We were lucky that it wasn't more serious.
