Maybe a bit of obedience training will help? Fortunately, Lucky obeys and doesn't bark when he's gated up or when I leave. Whenever my dog barks when I'm sleeping, I slap the wall or the panels on my bed and he stays quiet after that. Try not to use your voice as that might lead to your dog developing a fear for your voice. Hope you don't have to resort in hiring a pet sitter everyday... $$$
