unless you live in kentucky. If you live in kentucky and are a breeder, you can go to the state capital, Frankfort, Ky, and take a class, then get certified to give rabies shots to your dogs ONLY. Once they go out from under your name, the rabies shot isn't recognized. My husband has been certified for two years so he gives all his Beagles and my personal yorkies their rabies shots. Our vet has the paperwork from the state and is okay with it but some vets in the state aren't and the program is so new that some vets don't know about it. We give all our own puppy shots, too.
