It's pretty easy once you know the different file formats and can crop and edit - What programs do you have ?
There are several FREE ones - I don't use them now but have ...they're good to practice on - ULEAD Gif Animation is free - and ANY program where you can crop a picture will work for resizing also.
For resizing a picture but NOT cropping - This is very very easy....

the Expert on here for Animation is Val - She used Photoshop and Image Ready - All the fancy avatars were done by her ...I do them also but cannot do the text and kinds of animation she can do - I'm in awe of hers
