I like to have the registration papers just to have them. It's proof of ownership...I've heard of registration papers helping in dog custody issues before. Lacy's not registered with a good registry...but my cats are CFA (equivalent of AKC in the cat world). I like having a copy of my cat's pedigrees just to be able to see their lineage. I guess I just think it's a neat thing to have. It's not necessary to register them though if you don't want to show or breed. Just depends on if you want that piece of paper or not really.
