Default Google is now 2 years old!

Here's some Christmas photos of Google. He turned 2 years old on Dec 13, so he had a busy December where he got to eat a LOT of special treats--first a birthday and then Christmas!

While I made sugar cookies for the family for Christmas, I made a special batch of cookies for Google--a LOT less sugar, and a little bit of MEAT ground up into the cookie batter. He thought he'd gone to heaven!

Now that he's a grown-up doggie, I can see where we did "right" and "wrong" in training him. As a puppy, I was pretty good about never allowing him to put his teeth on me while teething and playing--only I am allowed to decide when my skin touches his teeth (when I'm cleaning them!) and if he ever got too rambunctious I stopped playing with him. As a result, around me he is a laid-back lap dog, very affectionate and loving and very protective. I'm truly his "Mommy." When I have to leave for work each morning, he comes over for a kiss and then lies on his bed, watching me go.

Everyone else in the family ignored my lead, and let Google tug on them with his teeth and rough-house with them. As a result he thinks he's in charge of them. When they leave for school or work, he "yells" at them--he chases them, barks at them, and even nips at their clothes to tug at them and make them stay. He accidentally bit my husband last week (didn't break the skin) and when he tried to complain to me to "please train the dog" I say "NO WAY you did that to yourself--YOU trained Google to do that, so YOU have to correct it!" and I told him how. He's finally listening to me. LOL

So I managed to train the dog...now I have to train the family. ha!

Hope you enjoy the pictures of my scruffy furbaby!
