Hey V, Just wanted to say good luck in your search! I've had an Acer (a long time ago!) but never heard bad things about them! Never heard of Everex. Also, I know that eMachines are good, less expensive computers for the same thing as a $500 more HP or Dell or whatever. You're paying for the name with those computers. My mom has an eMachine and she loves it! She uses the Internet pretty frequently but that's about it on her computer, but it's working well and she's had it for 1 1/2 years...so I would tell ya to check out them! GOOD LUCK
