[Sugar's Mom]

Well, I havee ultrasounds at 28 days from the first tie. it has always been accurate EXCEPT this last litter. I was a little upset when they told me she had three because this mama always has five no matter who she is breed to. Lo and Beholdd, when she whelped, out came FIVE little fur balls. So I am guessing the two smaller ones were from the second tie two days later than the first and the ultrasound didn't pick them up. Sometimes I go for an x-ray a few days before and sometimes I don't. they can show as being perfectly lined up to whelp then turn or something during the process so I almost have come to the conclusion that if you know how many babies are supposed to come, there is not much point in that final X-Ray. my own vet won't even do them on pregnant moms and I have to go to an out of town vet. My vet believes it stresses the moms out too much. I have the ultrasound because I can't stand the not knowing. But, the later x-rays never did hurt my mama or babies and it is completely safe if you decide to do it.
