To the OP, I agree. Why do people have to be so rude? Even if he would've just plainly disagreed with you or had said "I'll buy from whom I want", it would have been STUPID, but at least not vulgar or rude.
And to the 2nd pet shop story......what a dumb thing for a store employee to say. Should have told them "Puppymills are NO joking matter!"
