Back when my kids were young I hardly used babysitters because I didn't trust just anyone with my kids - but when I found one who came highly recommended I doubled what she was asking and she was just awesome - She was the only babysitter I would use and she was paid very well for it.

so Megan - set your own price - Maybe do a test run and charge the going rate but if they want to use you on a regular basis then up the fee a little so you'll have a good hourly rate. When they meet you they'll realize what a gem you are. Many parents feel it's very worth it to find someone trustworthy & will pay for that trust.

PS - find out what minimum wage is in your state and add a few dollars to it - you don't want to go under Min Wage - that's just not worth it
