I don't really have a problem with my boy smelling in the belly bands. I wash him when I change the pads, but I also change the pads every 90 minutes to 2 hours. Unless of course he has been asleep, but I always check him to make sure he is not wearing a wet pad. I sure wouldn't want an infection or sore skin from the pee.
