Wow never heard of this one but Linda keep us posted on what the vet recommends. I totally understand you not wanting to put Moose under again...it's always scary when our little ones go under. You can always take care of it if down the road if Moose needs teeth out or something...but if this dewclaw doesn't bother you or Moose and you keep the short...I wouldn't worry about it. I'd go with what the vet recommends.
