I think kennel boarding can be ok,, depending on the kennel. It is not the case that they will be in a crate all day if you choose the right kennel. Your dog will be handled a lot and have lots of free play. I used to board my pug at Wagging Tails in Tribeca. I highly recommend them if you absolutely have to kennel your yorkie. They are great and they run around in play areas and you can even log onto their website and watch the dogs play. they charge by weight and I was paying $40.00 per day. a yorkie will be cheaper.
